Fractal based on the war shield art of Muhammed Mumin, 16th century. Original housed in museum in Russia, but currently on loan to the Sackler museum in Washington, DC. Mumin's shield is made of gold and silver spirals rotating in opposite directions. Fringe on bottom of shield was typical of the time. |
